Dow drops 109 points on losses in UnitedHealth, American Express stocks

Shares of UnitedHealth and American Express are seeing declines Friday afternoon, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. The Dow DJIA, -0.25% was most recently trading 109 points (0.4%) lower, as shares of UnitedHealth UNH, -1.16% and American Express AXP, -1.36% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. UnitedHealth’s shares have declined $5.96, or 1.7%, while those of American Express have dropped $1.34 (1.4%), combining for an approximately 48-point drag on the Dow. Caterpillar CAT, -0.97%, Home Depot HD, -0.86%, and Goldman Sachs GS, -0.94% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.58-point swing.
