Buoyed by positive gains for shares of American Express and Chevron, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is soaring Monday morning. The Dow (DJIA) was most recently trading 1,139 points (4.0%) higher, as shares of American Express (AXP) and Chevron (CVX) are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. American Express’s shares have climbed $18.19, or 18.8%, while those of Chevron have climbed $7.78 (10.9%), combining for a roughly 171-point bump for the Dow. Boeing (BA) Walt Disney (DIS) and JPMorgan Chase (JPM) are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
