Dow's 100-point fall led by losses in shares of American Express, Boeing

Shares of American Express and Boeing are trading lower Wednesday afternoon, dragging the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. The Dow DJIA, -0.27% was most recently trading 105 points lower (-0.4%), as shares of American Express AXP, -4.64% and Boeing BA, -3.83% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. American Express’s shares have fallen $5.40 (4.7%) while those of Boeing have fallen $7.68, or 4.1%, combining for an approximately 86-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Walt Disney DIS, -3.49%, Dow Inc. DOW, -2.35%, and Walgreens Boots WBA, -2.00%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.58-point swing.
