Boeing, Dow Inc. share losses contribute to Dow's 234-point fall

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is declining Friday afternoon with shares of Boeing and Dow Inc. facing the biggest drops for the index. Shares of Boeing BA, -2.94% and Dow Inc. DOW, -1.10% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.74% was most recently trading 234 points, or 0.8%, lower. Boeing’s shares have dropped $6.44, or 3.1%, while those of Dow Inc. have dropped $0.99, or 1.8%, combining for an approximately 49-point drag on the Dow. American Express AXP, -1.36%, Inc. CRM, -2.49%, and Visa V, -1.77% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow results in a 6.58-point swing.
