Dow's nearly 175-point climb led by gains in shares of Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Wednesday afternoon with shares of Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase seeing positive growth for the index. The Dow DJIA, +0.38% was most recently trading 173 points, or 0.6%, higher, as shares of Goldman Sachs GS, +2.54% and JPMorgan Chase JPM, +2.79% are contributing around 25% of the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. Goldman Sachs’s shares are up $7.26, or 2.9%, while those of JPMorgan Chase have gained $3.38 (2.8%), combining for an approximately 70-point boost for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are American Express AXP, +2.10%, Walt Disney DIS, +1.82%, and Chevron CVX, +1.58%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
