Chevron’s shares have gained $1.68, or 2.0%, while those of American Express have climbed $2.27 (2.0%), combining for a roughly 26-point boost for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include JPMorgan Chase JPM, -0.44%, Boeing BA, -1.16%, and Walgreens Boots WBA, -0.63%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark results in a 6.58-point swing.
