Intel, Goldman Sachs share gains contribute to Dow's 100-point jump

Buoyed by positive momentum for shares of Intel and Goldman Sachs, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Thursday afternoon. The Dow DJIA, +0.65% was most recently trading 100 points higher (0.3%), as shares of Intel INTC, +2.19% and Goldman Sachs GS, +1.61% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally. Intel’s shares have climbed $1.39, or 2.8%, while those of Goldman Sachs have gained $3.04, or 1.2%, combining for an approximately 29-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include UnitedHealth UNH, +1.60%, McDonald’s MCD, +1.45%, and American Express AXP, +1.22%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.58-point swing.
