Dow's nearly 350-point rally highlighted by gains for shares of Caterpillar, Dow Inc.

Shares of Caterpillar and Dow Inc. are seeing strong returns Wednesday morning, propelling the Dow Jones Industrial Average rally. The Dow DJIA, +0.89% was most recently trading 345 points (1.1%) higher, as shares of Caterpillar CAT, +3.48% and Dow Inc. DOW, +2.80% have contributed around a quarter of the index’s intraday rally. Caterpillar’s shares have climbed $8.62 (4.0%) while those of Dow Inc. have climbed $2.37, or 3.9%, combining for an approximately 72-point bump for the Dow. Chevron CVX, +3.04%, American Express AXP, +2.34%, and Honeywell International Inc. HON, +2.38% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
