Dow drops 186 points on losses for shares of Johnson & Johnson, American Express

Shares of Johnson & Johnson and American Express are trading lower Tuesday morning, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. Shares of Johnson & Johnson JNJ, -2.19% and American Express AXP, -1.22% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.32% was most recently trading 186 points (0.6%) lower. Johnson & Johnson’s shares are off $4.17, or 2.6%, while those of American Express are down $3.22 (2.2%), combining for an approximately 49-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include IBM IBM, -2.36%, JPMorgan Chase JPM, -1.21%, and Dow Inc. DOW, -1.55%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
