Dow up 180 points on gains in shares of Walmart, Boeing

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Wednesday afternoon with shares of Walmart and Boeing delivering the strongest returns for the blue-chip average. Shares of Walmart WMT, +2.63% and Boeing BA, +2.23% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.51% is trading 180 points (0.5%) higher. Walmart’s shares are up $3.75 (2.7%) while those of Boeing have risen $5.01, or 2.1%, combining for an approximately 58-point bump for the Dow. Goldman Sachs GS, +1.70%, Walgreens Boots WBA, +1.06%, and JPMorgan Chase JPM, +0.89% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark results in a 6.58-point swing.
