The Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading down Tuesday morning with shares of Dow Inc. and Caterpillar facing the biggest declines for the index. The Dow DJIA, -1.17% was most recently trading 282 points (0.8%) lower, as shares of Dow Inc. DOW, -3.21% and Caterpillar CAT, -2.78% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. Dow Inc.’s shares have dropped $1.89 (3.0%) while those of Caterpillar have declined $5.28 (2.4%), combining for an approximately 47-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include 3M MMM, -2.44%, JPMorgan Chase JPM, -2.25%, and Honeywell International Inc. HON, -2.34%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
