Dow Inc., Caterpillar share losses lead Dow's 200-point drop

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Tuesday afternoon with shares of Dow Inc. and Caterpillar delivering the stiffest headwinds for the index. Shares of Dow Inc. DOW, -2.49% and Caterpillar CAT, -1.95% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.60% was most recently trading 207 points (0.6%) lower. Dow Inc.’s shares are down $1.66, or 2.6%, while those of Caterpillar are off $4.54 (2.1%), combining for an approximately 41-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Walt Disney DIS, -1.93%, Chevron CVX, -1.96%, and Amgen Inc. AMGN, -2.03%. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
