Stocks were rising Monday, with Wall Street set to claw back some of the losses from last week—one of the worst for markets in months—as investors look ahead to key U.S. inflation data coming Tuesday.

Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average were pointing up around 140 points, set for a strong open after five consecutive days of losses for the index. The Dow fell 271 points Friday to close at 34,607. Futures for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indicated a similarly buoyant beginning to the week’s trading.
