LIVE – Updated at 09:08
The PS5 launched in November 2020, but supply problems and a global chip shortage caused the production of Sony’s next-generation console to slow to a crawl. New stock is still difficult to find, and when it does appear the PS5 sells out almost instantly.
September was a mixed bag when it came to PS5 restocks, but was still much better than June and July. Although not as good as August, we still saw some hefty drops at Very, BT, EE, Argos, Amazon, Smyths Toys and Game. We had 10 drops to end the month of September. The question now, is, will October be any good? It doesn’t look too peachy so far. This month, we’ve only seen online restocks from AO.com, BT, and ShopTo, with Game joining the gang yesterday. plus an in-store drop at Smyths Toys.
If you’re still on the lookout for a PS5, you’ve come to the right place. Our liveblog is on hand to give you the latest insight on Playstation 5 restocks from all major UK retailers, both online and in-store, as well as providing details on rumoured releases, the latest PS5 games and accessories to snap up.

News on today’s potential Amazon PS5 restock
09:05 , Alex Lee
Is it about to happen? Amazon has just updated its PS5 listing page with the standard “Amazon Prime customers will have priority access to the PlayStation 5” message, meaning if the PS5 drops today, it will be a Prime-exclusive drop.
If you aren’t an Amazon Prime member already, we’d recommend signing up for a 30-day free trial. It could drop at 9:30am.
⚠️ Keep an eye on Amazon for the next 30 mins. They’ve added the Prime message to the listing and it’s been dropping in Europe which is a good sign for us.
This is NOT guaranteed, just a heads up to get the advantage. pic.twitter.com/yy8SAWW4Sl

Could Amazon PS5 stock drop this morning?
08:50 , Alex Lee
It seems like Amazon has been really struggling with securing stock recently. Before the drop on 22 September, it had gone a whole six weeks without having a single drop.
Over the past year, we’ve come to expect a restock every two weeks, but Amazon has been having issues sticking to that pattern over the last couple of months.
It has been exactly two weeks since Amazon last had a restock, so it should technically drop this morning. Again, if it doesn’t drop by 10am, it’s a dead duck.
When could Argos PS5 stock drop?
08:35 , Alex Lee
We’re sorry to say that our dreams of Argos dropping PS5 stock this week have been dashed. Last night, the ever reliable @PS5StockAlertUK Twitter account, who – as we all know – has moles inside the Argos warehouse, tweeted that the retailer has only just started receiving disc and digital shipments.
Other Argos warehouses should be receiving more stock throughout the week, with the stock tracker saying that the retailer should be having a restock on Wednesday 20 October.

A few warehouses have received shipments of PS5’s, both Disc & Digital Editions, with the remaining warehouses expected to receive shipments by the end of this week.

What PS5 stock drops could we see today?
08:15 , Alex Lee
Good morning, PS5 hunters, and welcome to another day of PS5 stock tracking action. After that ma-hoosive double whammy of a restock from Game yesterday, we’re really hoping that a few other retailers are going to start delivering the goods!
Today, we’ve got our eyes on Amazon for a potential restock. Keep yourselves planted on this page for all the latest updates as they happen. We’ll get you a PS5. just watch us.
A recap of today’s restock events
Tuesday 12 October 2021 17:00 , Alex Lee
PS5 hunters, are things fiiiiiiinally about to start picking up this month? While we’ve only had one drop today from Game, we feel like there’s been a change in the air. The clouds are starting to clear, and bobbing along in the blue sky, we think we can just about make out the outline of a white PS5.
We hope we’ve helped some of you secure a PS5 today, but if not, we’ll be back here tomorrow morning for some more PS5 restock action. Amazon, John Lewis & Partners – and if we’re Very lucky – Very, could all drop tomorrow morning. See you all then!

Could Argos PS5 stock drop this week?
Tuesday 12 October 2021 15:35 , Alex Lee
Argos is another retailer who often drops stock twice a month – usually once in the second week of the month and once in the final week of the month. It last dropped stock on 30 September, and before that on 14 September.
There’s a chance that it could drop this week, but take this prediction with a healthy pinch of salt. Argos doesn’t always stick to its restock pattern. If it does drop, look out for an 8am restock.
What time could John Lewis PS5 pre-orders open this week?
Tuesday 12 October 2021 14:45 , Alex Lee
John Lewis & Partners is predicted to have a restock sometime this week. According to @PS5StockAlertUK, the retailer will be receiving 1,000 disc and digital edition consoles on 15 October, meaning it could open for pre-orders any time between now and then.
If it does drop this week, expect the restock to take place at 7am on the dot. John Lewis & Partners rarely deviates from it’s early morning restock pattern.
📰 PlayStation 5 (John Lewis) Exclusive News
John Lewis expects to receive PlayStation 5 consoles on 15/10, indicating a possible online restock a few days before or after the 15th. Disc & Digital Editions are expected with the following stock level: Disc (<700) | Digital (<300) pic.twitter.com/D8BbIrWzRI

‘Back 4 Blood’ PS5 releases today
Tuesday 12 October 2021 13:55 , Alex Lee
The day has finally arrived. Back 4 Blood launches today. From the creators of the Left 4 Dead franchise comes this cooperative first-person shooter. It has received rave reviews from critics so far, who are calling it a modernisation of Left 4 Dead.

You can buy it for £54.76 from Amazon now, and it even comes with an exclusive AR badge.
Game PS5 bundles back in stock
Tuesday 12 October 2021 13:50 , Alex Lee
UPDATE: The bundles sold out within 15 minutes.
And there we have it, round two of the Game drop is here!
All the same bundles are available. Again, don’t go for the standalone consoles as these have already sold out. We don’t expect this drop to last very long, so be quick.
What time could Game PS5 cancelled orders drop?
Tuesday 12 October 2021 13:05 , Alex Lee
On drop days, Game fairly frequently delivers a second bag of consoles in the afternoon. This drop is usually much smaller, lasting around 15 minutes, and is made up of cancelled orders.
On 25 September, Game dropped its main batch of PS5s at 10:54am and then came back for a second round at 3:45pm, so make sure you’re glued to our blog around then (and always).
Need an Xbox series X?
Tuesday 12 October 2021 12:15 , Alex Lee
As the Game PS5 restock comes to a sad end, we’d like to draw any Xbox heads lurking here to the fact that we also run an Xbox series X restock live blog, so if you’re in the market for one of those, check them out.
It’s a lot quieter over there in terms of restocks, but our friends are still predicting some significant drops this week. Head on over for all the latest.
How good is the PS5 headset?
Tuesday 12 October 2021 11:35 , Alex Lee
If you were looking curiously at all those expensive PS5 bundles which feature the pulse 3D wireless headset and wondering whether you should get one next time the console is in stock. Fear not, it landed a spot in our review of the best PS5 accessories.
Our tester said: “There’s no shortage of gaming headset options out there but the PlayStation 5 pulse 3D wireless headset is a little bit special. Made with certain PlayStation 5 games in mind, its 3D audio means you can feel fully immersed in the experience, feeling like things are truly happening all around you.”
The PS5 is now out of stock at Game
Tuesday 12 October 2021 11:16 , Alex Lee
After an hour and a half, the PS5 is now out of stock at Game. Stock didn’t last as long as it usually does, with three hours being the norm, but we are getting closer to Christmas, and demand for the console is only increasing.
The console could come back in stock later this afternoon after Game has sorted through the cancelled orders, so stay on this page and we’ll update you soon.
‘Ratchet and Clank’ PS5 review
Tuesday 12 October 2021 11:05 , Alex Lee
Some of Game’s PS5 bundles come with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. If you’re thinking about buying the bundle and aren’t too sure about the game. Don’t fear, our reviewer loved it.
“Rift Apart has charm to burn, in its character design, lively combat mechanics, and explorable levels that feel large without seeming maze-like, busy without being cluttered,” they wrote in their review. “This is one of the best looks yet at what the new console generation has to offer. It’s big, it’s bright, and it’s almost impossible not to love.”

Can you bypass the Game PS5 queue?
Tuesday 12 October 2021 10:05 , Alex Lee
Afraid not, folks. There’s no real way of avoiding that slow walking man, but we’d recommend choosing an obscure bundle – one that might not get a lot of attention – if you want to speed through the queue. Standalone consoles sold out within two minutes.
It seems like some of you have already breezed through the queue and paid for your bundle, though. If you’re still waiting, hang on in there. It seems like there’s a fair few consoles to go around.

Tuesday 12 October 2021 09:43 , Alex Lee
The PS5 is now in stock at Game.
The cheapest disc edition bundle comes with a “Player1” T-shirt (£464.98, Game.co.uk).
Other highlights include a PS5 disc edition bundle that includes a copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and an additional dual sense controller (£594.96, Game.co.uk) and the same PS5 bundle, except with Demon’s Souls (£594.96, Game.co.uk).
A tip for the potential Amazon PS5 restock
Tuesday 12 October 2021 09:40 , Alex Lee
If you’re waiting for Amazon to restock the PS5 this morning and haven’t tried to get a console from the retailer before, we’d recommend signing up for Amazon Prime if you aren’t already a member. Since July, drops have only been exclusively available to customers who have a Prime membership.
You can sign up for a 30-day free trial if you aren’t already a member.
Game PS5 restock confirmed to take place this morning
Tuesday 12 October 2021 09:20 , Alex Lee
There are 50 bundles listed on its page right now, so this is going to be a pretty significant drop. Our top tip? Scroll to page two and pick a bundle from there – more people are going to pick one from the first page. It could drop any time between now and midday.

A reminder of the Game PS5 early warning system
Tuesday 12 October 2021 09:10 , Alex Lee
Game kindly alerts its Twitter followers about a PS5 restock the afternoon before a drop or sometimes even the morning of a drop, so it’s well worth following the retailer on Twitter for a little head’s up. Of course, if Game does warn us about a drop, we’ll let you know here on the blog.
If Game doesn’t drop today, it could still drop this week on Wednesday or Thursday, so stay vigilant, PS5 hunters.
When was the last Amazon PS5 restock?
Tuesday 12 October 2021 08:50 , Alex Lee
We know that Amazon usually drops stock in two-week intervals, and the last restock was at the end of September. It did, however, break this pattern last month, when it went a whole six weeks without a restock. Let’s hope there’s no repeat of those tragic scenes. If the consoles don’t drop by 10am, it’s unlikely to drop today, so keep an eye on the time.
Game PS5 bundles could drop today
Tuesday 12 October 2021 08:30 , Alex Lee
Last week, Game updated its PS5 bundles page with new release dates of 21 October. This means that 21 October is the last possible date that your PS5 will be shipped out to you if you successfully secure one at a drop between now and then.
The retailer usually drops stock roughly a week and a half prior to the stated release date, so expect a restock any day now. It might even drop today, according to @PS5StockAlertUK. If it does, expect it to drop between 9am and 10am.

What PS5 stock drops could we see today?
Tuesday 12 October 2021 08:16 , Alex Lee
Goooood morning PS5 hunters and welcome to another day of PS5 stock tracking action. While yesterday was a pretty quiet one in terms of retailer drops, we’re hoping Amazon and Game will drop a few hefty bags of consoles this morning.
As usual, we’ll be here all day, bringing the live stock updates to you as and when we get them. If there’s a drop, you’ll be the first to know.
Live blog signing off
Monday 11 October 2021 17:01 , Alistair Charlton
That brings another day of fruitless PS5 hunting to a close. Unfortunately the Game, John Lewis and Amazon restocks have yet to materialise. But don’t lose hope, because we’re now more sure of the Game restock happening tomorrow, 12 October. We’ll see you then!
The best PS5 games for your new console
Monday 11 October 2021 16:00 , Alistair Charlton
Managed to bag yourself a PS5? Or perhaps you’re going to pick up some games while patiently waiting for the console to come back into stock. In which case, we hope those games don’t torment you from the shelf for too long.
If you’re looking for games, we’ve got a round-up of the best PS5 titles for you to browse.
In the bestselling Spider-Man: Miles Morales game (£44.99, Currys.co.uk), Peter Parker is replaced with his awkward teenage protégé, Miles Morales. A next-generation spin-off, Spider-Man: Miles Morales refines the original’s formula,” our reviewer said. “This is a streamlined adventure with a more focused story, far less busy work and an endearingly clumsy protagonist still getting to grips with his powers.”
Meanwhile, Demon’s Souls (£57.99, Currys.co.uk) on PS5 is a showcase of what the new console is capable of. “The oppressive gothic architecture, yawning arches and festering dungeons of this cult classic look spectacular on the new hardware, while remaining faultlessly faithful to the aesthetic and vibe of the original game,” our tester said.
Read our review of the new Nintendo Switch OLED
Monday 11 October 2021 15:02 , Alistair Charlton
While we’re waiting for new PS5 stock to land, we thought we’d draw your attention to our review of the brand new Nintendo Switch OLED. The hand-held console has received a major update, with a new OLED display that is bigger and brighter than before, plus a redesigned kickstand and double the internal storage. Our reviewer said: “the larger display is fantastic and playing games in handheld mode is an absolute joy. The kickstand feels so solid and makes us never want to look at that little toggle on the back of the original Switch ever again.”
The new Nintendo Switch OLED is priced from £309.99 and is available to buy right now.

Get ready for Black Friday 2021 and the best PS4 deals of the year
Monday 11 October 2021 13:01 , Alistair Charlton
Black Friday is approaching and you know the score. It’s the shopping event of the year and will see deals to be had on a huge range of products. Gaming deals are often plentiful, and with the PS5 still new (and difficult to find) we’re expecting to see loads of discounts on the PS4. It’s an older console, but developers will continue to make PS4 games for a good while yet, and even many of the PS5’s blockbuster titles, like Gran Turismo 7, will come to the PS4 too.
The IndyBest team will be working hard right through Black Friday to bring you the best PS4 deals on offer.
What’s different about the PS5 digital edition?
Monday 11 October 2021 12:02 , Alistair Charlton
If you weren’t aware, there are two versions of PS5. The only difference between them is that the PS5 digital edition does not have a disc drive, whereas the regular PS5, also known as the disc edition, does.
This means games have to be downloaded to the digital edition before they can be played. It also means this console is slightly slimmer than the disc edition, but equally tall and deep. The disc edition measures 390 x 104 x 260mm, while the digital edition is 390 x 92 x 260mm.
Lacking a disc drive also means the digital edition is cheaper, with a recommended retail price of £359.99, compared to £449.99 for the disc edition. They otherwise perform in exactly the same way.
The best accessories for your new PS5
Monday 11 October 2021 11:32 , Alistair Charlton
If you’ve managed to find a PS5, or just want to get ahead of the game, then we’ve rounded up some of the best accessories for the new console. These include a charging dock for your controllers, an HD camera, headphones, additional storage, a deal on PlayStation Plus, and much more besides.
As a taster, here are some of the top accessories to buy for your PS5:
- Best controller – PS5 dualsense controller: £56.99, Amazon.co.uk
- Best charging dock – PS5 dualsense charging station: £24.99, Amazon.co.uk
- Best camera – PS5 HD camera: £40.99, Amazon.co.uk
- Best headphones – PS5 pulse 3D wireless headset: £89.99, Currys.co.uk
- Best remote control – PS5 media remote: £24, Amazon.co.uk
When will Smyths Toys have more PS5 stock?
Monday 11 October 2021 11:22 , Alistair Charlton
Smyths Toys has already had a restock this month, on 5 October. But that drop was in-store only and no consoles were made available through the retailer’s website. As for online stock, Smyths says more PS5 consoles will be available at some point in October, but is being no more specific than that for now.
In the meantime, don’t forget to regularly check your local Smyths Toys store. Either call in, or keep an eye on the Smyths website, which shows when any of its stores has PS5 stock available. The website currently shows no stock at any store, but we urge readers to keep an eye out, as the site does get updated when consoles arrive.
How to get a PS5 voucher code from BT
Monday 11 October 2021 10:52 , Alistair Charlton
BT is giving its customers a helping hand when it comes to securing a PS5. Instead of throwing open the virtual doors and dealing with a stampede like other retailers, BT sends out unique voucher codes to its customers.
If you are a BT TV customer, for example, or subscribe to BT Sport, you can apply to receive a PS5 voucher code. These are emailed out sporadically and can be used to access a PS5 next time the BT store has a restock. You still have to pay the regular price, of course, but this system is a neat way of rewarding BT customers and giving them a better chance of securing a console.
BT is one of just a handful of retailers to have had a PS5 restock this month, with a drop exclusively for its broadband customers on 4 October. BT had three restocks in September though, so we’re expecting to see at least a couple more through this month.
Can you play PS4 games on PS5?
Monday 11 October 2021 10:28 , Alistair Charlton
Yes, you can! Almost all of the PS4 games you already own are playable on the PS5. You’ll be able to download any games you bought through the PlayStation store on your PS4 and play them on the next-gen console.
If you’ve got the disc edition of the PS5, you’ll also be able to insert your PS4 discs into it and play them that way, too. Obviously, because there’s no physical disc slot on the digital edition of the console, you won’t be able to play any PS4 discs you own. We’ve compiled together a list of our favourite PS4 games, and most of them have dropped in price since the PS5 came out.
How to buy an Xbox series X
Monday 11 October 2021 10:05 , Alistair Charlton
If you think buying a PS5 is hard work, then you should try finding an Xbox series X. Microsoft’s rival next-generation console is even more difficult to track down at the moment, with stock appearing at random then disappearing almost immediately. Thankfully, the IndyBest team is here to help. We also run a live UK restock blog for the Xbox series X, so if you’re in the market for Microsoft’s console, head on over there now.
Have there been any PS5 restocks yet in October?
Monday 11 October 2021 09:45 , Alistair Charlton
We’re now 11 days into October and it’s been pretty quiet on the PS5 front. Electronics retailer AO.com has brought the most joy to PS5 hunters so far, with restocks on 1 and 4 October. A day later, Smyths Toys had an in-store restock – a reminder there to regularly check your local stores, kids! – and ShopTo treated us to a restock last week, on 9 October.
When did Amazon last have a PS5 restock?
Monday 11 October 2021 09:31 , Alistair Charlton
We haven’t seen a restock from Amazon in October yet. The most recent PS5 restock came on 29 September, and before this we saw stock arrive on 22 September and 11 August. May, June and July each had two restocks, so Amazon has been among the more consistent retailers when it comes to PS5 availability, even if stock disappears almost as quickly as it arrives.
Amazon sometimes only makes fresh PS5 stock available to Prime members, so we recommend signing up to that ahead of time. That way, you’ll be logged in and ready to hit the buy button as soon as those consoles arrive. Also, it is worth noting how Amazon sometimes lists one version of PS5 ahead of the other. Previously we have seen the disc edition land first, with the digital edition being made available shortly after.
When did John Lewis last have a PS5 restock?
Monday 11 October 2021 09:15 , Alistair Charlton
John Lewis & Partners last had a PS5 restock on 28 September. This came just four days after another restock, but these were the only two we saw from the retailer in September. With a bit of luck, more stock will be made available sooner in the month for October, but for now both versions of the PS5 are marked as out of stock.
Prior to this, we saw just one restock from John Lewis in August, one in July, none in June and one in May. Will we see more frequent restocks in October? We sure hope so…
When did Game last have a PS5 restock?
Monday 11 October 2021 09:08 , Alistair Charlton
Game is one of the retailers that could see a PS5 restock this week. The website currently shows the PS5 and PS5 digital edition out of stock, but hopefully this will change soon and we’ll get an indication as to when the consoles will be available to buy.
Game had three PS5 restocks last month, on 14, 15 and 29 September, so hopefully we’ll see a similar amount in October too. That said, Game managed just one restock in August and two in June and July, so stock hasn’t always been as plentiful as it was in September.
Which retailers are expected to restock this week?
Monday 11 October 2021 09:06 , Alistair Charlton
Game has been pretty good at releasing new stock on a regular basis, with three PS5 restocks through September. Amazon isn’t quite as regular, but had a couple of restocks in September, and John Lewis also had two PS5 restocks last month.
Unlike the Xbox series X, retailers tend to give a heads-up about when new stock will arrive. Hopefully Game, John Lewis and Amazon will do the same thing this time around and give us (and you!) a bit of notice before the consoles land.
Hello and welcome
Monday 11 October 2021 08:37 , Alistair Charlton
Good morning, PS5 hunters! Welcome to a brand new week on the IndyBest PS5 restock live blog. If you’re looking for a PS5 in the UK, then this is where you will find all of the latest news on retailer restocks of the must-have but tricky-to-find console.
