Brown & Brown of Michigan receives award from West Bend Mutual Insurance

 West Bend Mutual Insurance Company recently presented the Spirit of the Silver Lining Award to Brown & Brown for their ongoing support of the Flint YMCA.

 Additionally, West Bend donated $5,000 to the Flint YMCA on their behalf.

 “We want to congratulate Brown and Brown Insurance on being awarded the Spirit of the Silver Lining Award,” said Shelly Hilton, CEP of the YMCA of Greater Flint. “The $5,000 grant will be

used to help support youth and family programs in Flint. In particular, the funds will be used by our Safe Places program, which provides free afterschool care, homework help, and more to nearly 400

youth in our community.”

 Long time agent and YMCA volunteer, Steve Randall stated, “Brown & Brown Insurance is proud and fortunate to partner with organizations such as West Bend Mutual Insurance and the YMCA of Greater Flint. West bend’s commitment to helping local communities in this time of extreme need shows their character and is greatly appreciated by all who benefit from this generosity.”

 Since 2006, West Bend has awarded nearly $2 million in grants, including $215,000 in 2021. These grants are used for sustaining support, special projects, or capital projects by nonprofit organizations representing a broad field of interests including, but not limited to: arts and culture; education; the environment; family, youth, and elderly; health and human services; medical research; and community development.
