Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:11AM

CESC(up 0.75%), Inox Wind Energy(up 0.69%), NTPC(up 0.67%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.56%), Torrent Power(up 0.50%),

Limited(up 0.47%), Hitachi Energy India(up 0.37%), NLC India(up 0.19%), NHPC(up 0.13%) and Gujarat Industries Power(up 0.06%) were among the top gainers.

Karma Energy(down 5.78%), Adani Transmissions(down 5.00%), ADANIGREEN(down 5.00%), Adani Power(down 4.99%), KPI Green Energy(down 4.72%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 3.17%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(down 3.10%), Energy Development Company(down 3.06%), Orient Green Power Company(down 2.87%) and Indo Tech Transformers(down 2.34%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 75.0 points down at 17781.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 252.63 points at 60430.07 at around 11:11AM.

Titan Company Ltd(up 2.04%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.47%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.24%), Eicher Motors(up 1.11%), NTPC(up 0.64%), UPL Ltd(up 0.62%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.62%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.57%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.56%) and Hindalco Industries(up 0.52%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, State Bank of India(down 2.92%), Adani Enterprises(down 2.65%), Infosys(down 2.09%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.84%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.65%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.33%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.16%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.11%), Bajaj Finance(down 1.06%) and Wipro(down 1.03%) were trading in the red.
