Why I never stop dreaming about Uzbekistan
When I tell people I have been dreaming of Uzbekistan, they look at me as if I am bonkers. If I then mention Samarkand and the cities of the Silk Road, they look a little more interesting. Just the phrase “the Silk Road” conjures adventure and mystery. Since I briefly visited this land-locked Central Asian country a few years ago, I have always wanted to return. There is simply nowhere else like it, so I talked a friend into coming with me.
