Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.77%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.

Shares of LTIMindtree Ltd(up 3.22 per cent), L&T Technology(up 3.1 per cent), MPhasis(up 2.84 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 1.49 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.63 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Coforge(down 0.8 per cent), Persistent Systems(down 0.11 per cent) and Wipro(down 0.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty IT index closed 0.77 per cent up at 30316.9.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 0.25 points at 18118.3, while the BSE Sensex stood up 37.08 points at 60978.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.

Shares of , , FSN E-Comm(Nykaa), PNB and Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of RBM Infracon Ltd., , , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Dollex Agrotech Ltd., , Omaxe, and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
