BP is forging ahead with a huge new phased gas project in Senegal that will tap 32 trillion cubic feet of resources via a big liquefied natural gas facility, while also underpinning the nation’s switch away from diesel-fired power.

A development plan for the Yakaar-Teranga complex is set to be submitted within weeks to the government in Dakar, as BP moves to fast-track project sanction, targeting start-up in 2026.
