Dow climbs 288 points on gains for Home Depot, UnitedHealth shares

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Tuesday afternoon with shares of Home Depot and UnitedHealth delivering strong returns for the index. Shares of Home Depot HD and UnitedHealth UNH are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA is trading 288 points, or 0.9%, higher. Home Depot’s shares have climbed $8.91, or 2.8%, while those of UnitedHealth have climbed $12.27 (2.5%), combining for an approximately 140-point boost for the Dow. Dow DOW, Goldman Sachs GS, and 3M MMM are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.59-point swing.
