Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.48% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:25AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Granules India(up 1.92 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.74 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(up 1.28 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 0.89 per cent) and Abbott India(up 0.83 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Laurus(down 2.55 per cent), Pfizer(down 1.79 per cent), Cipla(down 1.25 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 0.67 per cent) and Natco Pharma(down 0.6 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.48 per cent at 12423.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 77.65 points at 17571.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 286.24 points at 59214.17.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of , PNB, , and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of

, Ascom Leasing & Inve, , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Uma Converter Ltd., , Ltd., Vital Chemtech Ltd. and Aarti Pharmalabs Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
