Stock market update: Power stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 11:17AM

KPI Green Energy(up 4.00%), Voltamp Transformers(up 3.56%), Inox wind(up 2.93%), Reliance Power(up 2.45%), Orient Green Power Company(up 2.08%), KEC International(up 2.02%),

Limited(up 1.46%), Suzlon Energy(up 1.09%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 0.93%) and Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(up 0.77%) were among the top gainers.

Adani Transmissions(down 10.00%), ADANIGREEN(down 10.00%), Adani Power(down 4.98%), Jyoti Structures(down 3.26%), Karma Energy(down 3.04%), NTPC(down 2.56%), PTC India(down 2.41%), JSW Energy(down 2.25%), DPSC(down 2.03%) and

Transmission(down 1.90%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 22.3 points down at 17594.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 66.41 points at 59774.49 at around 11:17AM.

ITC(up 5.67%), Britannia Industries(up 4.53%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.86%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.86%), Infosys(up 1.83%), HCL Technologies(up 1.74%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.22%), Wipro(up 1.08%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.97%) and Bharti Airtel(up 0.96%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 9.17%), UPL Ltd(down 4.79%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 4.28%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 3.92%), Bajaj Finance(down 2.93%), Hero MotoCorp(down 2.85%), Tata Steel(down 2.66%), NTPC(down 2.56%), Eicher Motors(down 2.36%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.25%) were trading in the red.
