Travis Kelce played what could be his final home game at Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas Day. He looked like he wanted to cry during the National Anthem before the contest.
The Chiefs ultimately lost to the Denver Broncos. However, the night belonged to him. For the first time in 10 years, the Chiefs won’t make it to the playoffs. Their record now stands at 6-10. “A whole lot of emotions,” Kelce said afterward. “You’ve got everybody in the world watching you. You get to go out there with the young guys on prime-time television. Young guys getting an opportunity to taste what this NFL life is like.”
Travis Kelce was then asked about retirement.
“I’ll let that be a decision I’ll make with my family, friends, the Chiefs organization when the time comes,” Kelce replied.
Kelce finished the game leading all Chiefs receivers with five catches for 36 yards. With one more game, it appears he will miss out on another thousand-yard season. It is shaping up to be his third-lowest total of receiving yards in his career.
Even still, Kelce will go down as one of the best tight ends in NFL history. He is a certified first ballot Hall of Famer.
