Dan Skipper has put his body on the line for the Detroit Lions.

Now, it might be time for him to protect that body with the idea of retirement looming.
Skipper is set to get imaging back this week on a lower back injury.
That imaging could spell the end of Skipper’s NFL career.
“This might be the last one,” Skipper told reporters after Sunday’s season-ending game.

Skipper is a fan favorite in Detroit. He’s 6-foot-9, which helps the cause.
He’s also been an inspiring player, having gone undrafted out of Arkansas and played 68 games for Detroit (and three for Houston) since 2017.

Skipper also caught two passes for 13 yards and a touchdown in his career, and he gained notoriety when he had a key touchdown called back for a flag that said he hadn’t reported as eligible.
The Lions may also lose lineman Taylor Decker to retirement. That would certainly be two tough losses for Detroit.
