So much for a slow day for the stock market.
The Nasdaq Composite jumped 1.4% on Thursday as the major indexes picked up steam throughout the first half-hour of trading. The S&P 500 was up 0.8%. The Dow was up 28 points, or less than 0.1%.
The major indexes were mixed to start the session, but that didn’t last long.
