Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.01% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:04AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

TIINDIA(up 2.17 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.05 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 0.29 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.22 per cent) and Eicher Motors(up 0.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Samvardhana Motherson International(down 1.02 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 0.73 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.58 per cent), Bosch(down 0.43 per cent) and MRF(down 0.31 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.01 per cent at 12920.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 238.8 points at 17589.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 933.89 points at 59497.11.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Infosys, Reliance Power, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Hardwyn India, Touchwood Entertainm, Vardhman Poly, Venus Pipes & Tubes Ltd. and GI Engineering hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, Infosys, SVP Global, Mphasis and Omkar Speciality hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
