3M, Apple share losses contribute to Dow's 183-point drop

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Wednesday afternoon with shares of 3M and Apple seeing the biggest drops for the blue-chip average. The Dow DJIA was most recently trading 183 points (0.5%) lower, as shares of 3M MMM and Apple AAPL have contributed to the index’s intraday decline. 3M’s shares are down $1.91, or 1.7%, while those of Apple have declined $2.15, or 1.5%, combining for a roughly 27-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Chevron CVX, Dow DOW, and Intel INTC. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.59-point swing.
